Aaron got an incubator for Christmas this year from my dad and Ann-Marie. He has been itching to test it out, so finally today he found a guy that had fertilized eggs for sale. So here they are on Day 1. Stay tuned!
These are our broccoli seedlings, just getting started. Aaron planted the rest of our onions this afternoon--he planted 4 sets altogether, which is a ton!!! The garlic is going strong, all goes well, we should be drowning in garlic and onions by late spring. We should probably go ahead and invest in some breath mints!!
Onions & garlic - oh yah! Don't tell Jeff! haha ;-)
ReplyDeleteHmmm...you're growing onions, broccoli, garlic, and chickens? Sounds like future bad news for the chickens!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I recently purchased a bit of land around Austin and have been following your blog (and counting the days until we can get our own babydoll sheep!). We're working from seeds this year and I wondered about the little seedling containers from your broccoli picture - what are they and were can I find some? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi! We got the seedling containers from Home Depot or Lowes. They are pretty cheap and worth the cost. Last year we started most of our seedlings with seed starter soil and little makeshift containers, and it was a pain. This way is a lot easier!
ReplyDeleteWe will definitely invest in some of those. I got some little free plastic cups from a local nursery, but these seem much better (it looks like you can pop them right in the ground?). We also purchased Seed Saver seeds based on your website's advice. Can't wait to see how it turns out! We're at www.nonamefarmranch.blogspot.com trying to keep track of the insanity involved with suddenly owning land. Perhaps you can relate? :)
